Kindergarten and Pre-primary and Years 1 and 2 statements online briefings
The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) is offering online briefings on the Kindergarten and Pre‑primary and the Years 1 and 2 statements. These statements form part of the mandated Guiding Principles in the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline (the Outline).
The Kindergarten and Pre‑primary Statement and the Years 1 and 2 Statement set out the expectations for high-quality, child‑centred early childhood education in Western Australia that build on each child’s funds of knowledge to foster learning, development and wellbeing. The statements support both the Outline and the principles and practices of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
The statements guide school leaders and educators to identify and explain early childhood in Kindergarten and Pre-primary and Years 1 and 2 contexts. They provide knowledge of pedagogy in the early years to support high-quality delivery of the Outline. The mandated statements are available at:

The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) is collecting personal information on this registration form for the purpose of recording the names, email addresses and work locations of educators attending the online briefings.
The collection of your personal information enables the Authority to determine the reach of attendance. Your personal information collected will be disclosed to the authorised Authority personnel in order to facilitate the provision of further professional development.
If the Authority wishes to disclose your personal information for purposes other than those stated, your consent will be requested unless the disclosure is permitted under or by law.
The collection of this personal information is authorised under the provisions of The School Curriculum and Standards Authority Act 1997. If you choose not to provide your personal information, you may not be able to register for the online briefings.
