Revised curriculum for Health and Physical Education (HPE) P–10 for consent and first aid, and for English P–6 for phonics and word knowledge, have now been released for familiarisation in 2023, and implementation in 2024.
The changes only affect curriculum content for consent, first aid, and phonics and word knowledge. All other aspects of the Health and Physical Education and English curriculum remain unchanged.

A letter to principals from the new Chair of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority has been sent.
Teachers of the Mathematics Preliminary course are advised that the Authority will offer a professional development seminar in August, 2023 to provide opportunities for teachers to understand course requirements and standards, analyse assessment tasks samples, review student files, discuss findings and plan future action.
The workshop will focus on unpacking the principles of assessment and developing a shared understanding of the features of a quality assessment task and marking key.
