Application for marking the 2027 OLNA Semester 1 – Writing
The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) is seeking applications from qualified people who wish to be considered for appointment as markers for the 2027 Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA) Semester 1 – Writing component.
Writing is assessed using an analytic criterion-referenced marking guide. The marking guide will be a generic guide that includes exemplars from a wide range of genres and topics.
Applicants must have a sound knowledge of literacy and English grammar. Experience in teaching literacy is highly desirable.
Only home marking will be available, with team leaders working during the day at the Authority’s offices in Cannington for Term 2 Window A. Team leaders will work at home for Term 1 and Term 2 Window B.
Prior to completing the online application form, it is important that the following document is read and understood.
Marker applications for Semester 1 close Friday, 4 December 2026.
Only online applications will be accepted.
Markers will be notified about appointments by Friday, 8 January 2027.

The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) is collecting personal information on the Authority’s online application system for the purpose of:
- identifying individuals as a new or existing applicant in the Authority’s Student Information Records System (SIRS) and crosschecking to ensure that an individual only has one profile in SIRS
- checking that existing personal information is accurate including eligibility to work in Western Australia and status of the applicant’s National Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) and Working with Children (WWC) Check
- selecting prospective employees based upon qualifications and/or experience, preparing contracts to offer employment as a seasonal casual and creating or updating an employee profile on the Department of Education (the Department) Human Resources Management Information System (HRMIS).
This personal information will only be disclosed to authorised personnel at the Authority and the Department. If the Authority wishes to disclose the collected personal information for purposes other than those stated, your consent will be requested unless the disclosure is permitted under or by law.
If you choose not to provide your personal information, the Authority will not be able to process your casual appointment application.
The collection of this personal information is authorised under the provisions of the:

- Working with Children (Screening) Act 2004
- Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024
- Spent Convictions Act 1988
- School Curriculum and Standards Authority Act 1997.
