The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) is offering an online briefing to support teachers with the minor syllabus changes for the Year 12 Design ATAR course.

The briefing is intended for schools offering the Design ATAR course in 2027 and will focus on developing a shared understanding of the minor syllabus changes made to the Year 12 Design ATAR course Practical (Portfolio) examination design brief.

The briefing will be held on Wednesday, 11 November 2026, from 4.00–5.00 pm. It is not compulsory and is free to attend. Schools are responsible for any costs incurred (for example, teacher relief) by attending the briefing.

The updated syllabus is available on the course page under the ‘What’s changing’ accordion and labelled as ‘ATAR Year 12 Syllabus – For teaching from 2027’.

The Authority is reviewing its support materials as a result of these changes.

Note: the Authority uses Webex as the delivery platform for all online events. Registrants will need to download the application prior to the event to participate.
