The Pre-primary to Year 10: Teaching, Assessing and Reporting Policy (the Policy) and the Policy Standards for Pre-primary to Year 10: Teaching, Assessing and Reporting (the Standards) were reviewed in 2025.

The Policy has been updated to:

• make general refinements to language
• clarify the scope of the policy to include approved offshore schools offering the Western Australian Curriculum
• provide examples of alternative curriculum models
• update references to Belonging, Being and Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework v2.0.

The Standards have been updated to:

• make general refinements to language
• be more inclusive of students requiring a differentiated curriculum
• simplify the detail of Table 1: Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline: curriculum requirements and available options
• add the Languages learning area to Table 2: Implementation timeline requirements
• update information about the inclusion of comments in school reports.
